Awarded in 2023 by the Royal Conservatory of Music as "Teacher of Distinction", Silvia Buttiglione has created an innovative music studio of dedicated to cello learning, piano for beginner, music theory and chamber music.
Her private studio has been active in Edmonton (AB) for 6 years, between 2013 and 2018. and since 2018 Silvia Buttiglione has been teaching in Outremont (Montreal) and online via FaceTime, Zoom or GoogleMeet.
Students are now having lessons online from Europe, US and Eastern and Western Canada.
Lessons are individual and focus on the development of beauty of the sound, accurate intonation, wide variety of bow strokes and fluency in changes of positions, and great musicality.
Music theory learning, improvisation and ear training are taught during our regular lessons in order to expand progressively the musical skills of the students and their overall understanding of music.
The studio provides several opportunities for the students to perform in formal venues.
The particular dedication to string instruments allows students to find the opportunity to create their chamber music groups with other students and have the joy to share their passion for music.
Children as young as 4 years-old are accepted for cello and piano lessons. For younger children I am available to teach the innovative Smart Start curriculum designed at the Royal Conservatory of Music.
The environment is nice and familiar, welcoming and warm. Parents are welcome to attend to lessons or to leave their children with the teacher and pick them up at the end of their lessons.
The teaching method is personalized and can vary between students.
Lessons are in English, French or Italian.
